Attractive flowers have plum/purple background and crimson central bar and are 10-12cm (4-5in) across.  Very free flowering.It has a compact habit and is therefore ideal to grow with other wall trained shrubs, through roses, with grey foliage upright and prostrate conifers and junipers.  It is brilliant as a container plant for the patio or small garden.  Very free flowering both in spring and late summer.  It was raised in England by Mr Frank Meechan in the 1980s and has been introduced by Raymond Evison from his Guernsey nursery.
