A pink form of the species introduced by Ernest Wilson from China in the early 1900's. Sadly the true form appears to be lost to cultivation, and there are many, many clematis on sale under this name. They are all very variable. It is therefore best to obtain a named pink-flowered cultivar. The pink form of the species reportedly has bronze foliage and rosy-red flowers.
