The following varieties are suitable for the garden. They are reliable, easy to grow and multi-blooming, usually over a long period.
The Guernsey Clematis Nursery has bred and introduced these varieties over a few years. They have proved to be a good addition to any garden.
An Evison/Poulsen® cultivar introduced 2010. An exceptional free and long-flowering compact cultivar, this double clematis far outperforms any other double clematis currently available. It has many flowers per stem and has good foliage. The blue-purple flowers are very full, and pom-pom like due to their fully double habit. Each flower will last up to 4 weeks. The flowers are approximately 10-15cm (4-6 inches) in size. It is ideal for growing in containers for the smaller garden, but it also looks outstanding with variegated wall trained shrubs or grey foliaged shrubs.

Clematis grown in containers are a beautiful way to add height to a patio or courtyard garden. Choose a container 18" (45cm) approx. diameter for a single clematis plant plus support. For larger containers consider planting two or more plants per container. When choosing a container, Terracotta or wood are the best materials.
Alternatively, choose a host plant and dig a hole about 18 inches (45cm) deep.
