Raised by Morel in France about 1900. A classical clematis which is still one of the best of this group, with dark pink 12cm (5in) wide flowers. The rounded flowers have deeply textured tepals with a satin sheen, crimpled edges and blunt tips. Extremely free flowering. Ideal with roses. RHS Award of Garden Merit
